Artist Statement

I believe that there is a fairness, a straightforwardness to black-and-white photography. Because we lead such fast-paced lives, we miss seeing the simple images which make up our world. Taking notice of them and being able to capture them at that moment in time is my goal.

Each of my images captures an event in my life. Each photograph is a gift, releasing the intrinsic beauty of the moment. Being attentive to and mindful of the present, I am able to connect with the event or subject in a way not previously possible.

My goal is to capture the sacredness of the here-and-now, always cultivating the unexpected ... the passed by ... the overlooked.
