     Limelight Exhibit: November 2005-
   Malinda McCleary and Dorothy Montgomery

Malinda McCleary and Dorothy Montgomery are joining together in November’s Limelight, “Exploring the Back Roads and High Roads” through oil paintings.

Included in the exhibit are eighteen pieces by Montgomery which are inspired by her travels around the world. When she travels, she makes sketches and takes photographs. When she returns to her studio, she relives these special scenes while transforming them into larger oil paintings.

She hopes that the happy memories she strives to capture will engage onlookers and pull them into similar memories or experiences of their own. She often brings humor into her work and enjoys seeing the smiles this brings to her viewers.

Dorothy Montgomery was honored recently as one of the ten “Exceptional Art” award winners in the Unique Views of Huntsville Bicentennial Exhibit at the Huntsville Museum of Art.

R-Boathouse, Northern California.jpg (27720 bytes) McCleary’s portion of the exhibit features all new paintings from her trips to Ireland and the Western United States (along with a few local Madison county scenes to complete the mix).

Some of the landscapes can only be seen by those willing to hike long distances in remote areas.

Through her painting, Malinda McCleary shares and revisits her encounters with these special places.
