My earliest art lessons were at the age of
eight in Florence, Alabama from Mrs. Corrine Tuthill who was head of the Art Department
FSTC (now the University of North Alabama). In my 20s and 30s I dabbled some
with acrylics and oil and sold several pieces but did not seriously begin art lessons
again until 1984 when I took a basic drawing class at UAH, Continuing Education. |

Since that time, I have studied under Chuck Long (watercolor),
Don Howard (caricatures), Cindy Procius (caricatures), Cynthia Parsons (workshop), Heike
Covell (watercolor), Marcia Leonard (pastel), Josh Logan (matting and framing), Kathryn
Vaughn (watercolor), and Helga Flower (watercolor). |
| Over the last twenty years I have created over 100
watercolor and ink caricatures as departing gifts for employees in the various offices
where I worked at Redstone Arsenal. |

The majority of my work is in pastels and watercolors where I
frequently depict scenes of travel with my wife in the U.S., Europe, and the Tropics. I
enjoy when I find and depict the irony of a particular scene or a concrete abstract, which
may cause a viewer to pause to say Hmmm! |
